Abstract

This paper explains the relations between emissions, concentrations, global warming, estimations of incremental temperature rises, and risk assessment. Afterwards, data are provided and discussed through some indicators related to emissions of carbon dioxide and the total supply of primary energy. Two fundamental instruments to tackle climate change are analyzed: the price of greenhouse gases and policies to stimulate positive technological change. Finally, an explanation is provided on how The Climate Change Performance Index is defined and the main results of the report corresponding to 2018 are commented.
