Sierra de Gredos: Dinámica Socioterritorial y Parque Regional.

Abstract

The «Sierra» of Gredos is a mediterranean mountain very humanized where overlapped natural aud social aspects constitutes one of lis singularities. This aspect should not be taken separatly nor in the manegement of Regional Park neither at tlie starting of socio-economic promotion programs. Ah iliese makes necesary the integration and clarification of the new territorial functions in order to overcome and oid opposition between protection and promotion. Social interpretation of envíronment, understood as «territoryú, is an issue that can contribute to avoid the limitations of tbe simplisties and narnralist points of view. It will make the Regional Park an instrument of sustainable development from a policy of active protection.
