Ocupación antrópica de espacios en riesgo: urbanizaciones crecientes e inundaciones recurrentes en Rincón de la Victoria (Málaga)
Abstract
This article discusses the reality of natural hazards through the prism of the anthropic involvement in its existence and increase. This relationship of human occupation of areas at risk focuses on urban planning and the specific hazard of flooding. This connection is exemplified by the case of Rincon de la Victoria, at Malaga coast, which has undergone important growth of population and associated buildings, significantly increasing vulnerability to floods that have struck repeatedly in the municipality. These dynamics are analyzed using official statistics and aerial photographs from different decades that display increasing human pressure on the natural environment. It concludes with the insistence of the necessary urban planning that counts with existing natural risks and limits the construction of new developments in areas at risk.Downloads
