Consumo de energía por el transporte en España y tendencias de emisión
Abstract
This study analyzes the evolution of transport indicators in Spain and compares with other EU countries. The analysis shows the weakness of the transport sector: bigger growth of passengers than freight and doubled growth than in EU. This scenario is due to the inefficient modal share: there is a bigger growth in the most inefficient transport modes. The energy efficiency improvements reach by the technological improvements of both fuels and vehicles, are compensated by the increment in the travel distances and the motor size of the vehicles. The research presents results that determine the evolution of the energy consumption during last 15 years. The results allow to identify the main problems in order to define the measures to correct the current negative trend. Finally, there is a demonstration of how different measures can help to reduce road transport emissions in a medium-long term. The measures are related to the proposals of the Spanish Strategy of Energy Efficiency – E4.Downloads
