Environmental protection in Argentina and sustainable development. Mining Impacts
Abstract
This paper studies the geographical framework and the environmental situation of Argentina, in particular related to mining, and its protection system, from a sustainable development perspective with the determination of evaluation if said system is adequate and effective for environmental management. Starting from an introduction that locates the Argentine environmental issue and its study interest, it presents the perspective of sustainable development and then addresses the Argentine geographical framework and the environmental regulatory framework for the continuation of the main aspects of the general environmental and mining situation. in particular. The main conclusions about the situation and the system of environmental protection of Argentina, from the perspective of sustainable development, is that although important advances have been made in legislation and in the creation of environmental management organizations and institutions, the information available These institutions are lacking executive capacity to correct important issues that affect ecosystems. In the specific case of mining, this is manifested in the lack of substance improvements in mitigating the environmental effects they cause.
