Abstract

Climate change is a true reality as long as we understand the crisis that is happening on our planet’s climate, particularly marked from the middle of last century. Natural fluctuations in carbon dioxide concentration and the oscillations of the orbital planet’s parameters have been amplified by the system of ocean currents and the sequence of freezing and thawing areas in the circumpolar Arctic. Thus, it is considered that carbon sinks are a solution to mitigate the effects of climate change. The pressures that climate change can result in ecosystems (land, water,...), is a significant additional pressure on terrestrial ecosystems, already seriously affected today by pollution, overexploitation and land fragmentation. Finally, we stop at the analysis of the Spanish reality.
