Abstract

The apparent density and carbon storage of the carbonated sands, it´s modeled since the granulometry on the beaches of eastern Havana. The absence of references about the chemical composition of the dune and postdune, solicited the sampling of the sands. It´s analyzed granulometry, composition, apparent density and carbon storage, for the fine and medium sands classified according to Wentworth. The normal provenance of the data was checked for 95% confidence. The data was organized, linked and adjusted on mathematical models. The equations adjusted are good for estimate apparent density and carbon storage in sand and to evaluate the carbon deposition in beach nourishment projects. It´s recommended analyzing the gross sand.
