Abstract

Street harassment is one stage within the spectrum of violence committed against women which has not been addressed by lawmakers even though it threatens women’s freedom of movement, dignity and physical and moral integrity. This essay aims to describe the figure of street harassment, its nature as a key human right’s issue, the different ways that countries within the European Union context have criminalized it and what the situation is in Spain.
