Abstract

Grameen Bank is a bank devoted to the poor. This piece of work focus on how this role model has dramatically affected its clients lives. We will hereby explain the impact which Grameen Bank has had on Bengali society. We will also study how this bank makes the most of its resources to turn them into competitive advantages. Through its ongoing adaptation to the environment and its innovative methodology we will see how Grameen Bank manages to stay independent from other banking entities. Throughout this study, based on my own experience as an intern at Grameen Bank and in the country of Rahshahi as well as on sources such as the reports of its founder Muhammad Yunus and on Grameen Bank’s own office documents we will reach different conclusions and we will also conclude that Grameen Bank makes a great example of social work thanks to its effort to stop poverty and to empower women, turning the latter into the main character of this project.
