Abstract

Uncertainty about the future viability of the retirement pension system and the consequences of the economic crisis have boosted a significant change in the mapping of retirement pensions. Reinforcement of requirements to have access to all different types and brand new rules to calculate its amount and compatibility with the working life brings the need for an analysis that makes likely inconsistencies or interpretation difficulties quite clear. However, it seems clear that the 2011-2013 reform is far from definite, in spite of the long temporary periods of time introduced. Such reform must be possibly considered as the starting point of a long adjustment process that will be reinforced when the economic needs require it.
