El “totalismo ideológico” en el FRONT NATIONAL
Abstract
In the study of contemporary parties and movements located on the extreme right of the political spectrum, researchers have consistently pointed out the lack of studies analysing their ideological backgrounds. This is mainly due to extremist movements' heterogeneity, fragmentation, opportunism and intentional concealment. In this arti cle we try to develop an analysis of the core elements of Front National ideology using ROBERT JAY LIFTON's Ideological Totalism model as a heuristic tool to reduce El "totalismo ideológico" en el FRONT N Miguel Ángel Simón ATIONAL such complexity. From this point of view, the ideological discourse produced by the Front National clearly contains, though in varying degrees, all the elements necessary to classify it as a totalism discourse and movement.Downloads
