Abstract
This article has a double aim. On the one hand it analyses the origins of the studies about medieval Spain in Russian historical science in the second half of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century and to show the connection between the themes of researches and Russian realities of this time. On the other hand it deals with some characteristic features of the image of Spain in the works written by historian Vladimir Piskorski (1867-1910). Memoirs of Piskorski and his official report about his scholarly mission in Spain are examined; both contain important data about Spanish historical science of this time.Downloads
