Zoomorphic Speech Verbs and the Lexical Representation of the Illocutionary Force in Czech Language

Abstract
The intention of this paper is to defend that the zoomorphic metaphors in speech verbs of czech language represent the illocutionary force through two different linguistic dimmentions. First, they extend -metaphorically- the animal characteristics to the human lexical domain, and second, these verbs represent lexically different manners of speaking, therefore their lexical meanings reflect the illocutionary force or speech intentions.Downloads
