The Russian-language Prose Fiction of Kazakhstan in the Period of Independence (B. Dzhilkibaev: “... the fantasies of the steppe Don Juans”)

Abstract

On the material of The Kazakh Erotic Novel, written in Russian by B. Dzhilkibaev in the 1990s –a transition period in which Kazakhstan and former USSR countries gained their independence–, the semantics of the initiation of Kazakh culture is considered in the context of Russian, Spanish, and Western European literary traditions.
