The Byronic Hero and Pushkin’s Southern Poems

Abstract

The article focuses on probably the most notable romantic character, the Byronic hero. After a brief summary of the Byronic influence in Europe during the 19 c. the author tries to deal with a problem which is not enough studied in Bulgaria – in what way and to what extent the Russian poet and writer A. S. Pushkin was influenced by Byron’ s EasternTales for his Southern Poems.
