Las políticas de la Sociedad de la Información y de los Medios de Comunicación de la Unión Europea. Los periódicos online
Abstract
The European Commission of the European Union asserts that digital convergence is a basic tool both for our daily lives and our economy. Broadband is the standard connectivity. In Spain, the broadbands lesser build-up fosters the problem of excluding its citizens in line with what the Commission rules out: as its use becomes a daily requirement the risk increases in disabling citizens that lack it or cannot afford it from getting information. The European Commission has on the other hand stressed in various reports the important contribution made by the European policies on Information Society and Mass Media in order to attain the goals set by the Lisbon Agreement to garantee economic growth and jobs in the EU. It is thought that media online have great development possibilities in the EU in the forthcoming years. The development of this sector relies on the full implementation of broadband and mobile telephone. Huge turnovers are also forecasted for newspapers online and it is suggested that they should include new contents: videoclips, podcasts, dischargable MP3 radio and games.Downloads
