News about the female burial from the Early Iron Age of Casa del Carpio (Belvís de la Jara, Toledo)

Abstract

The characteristics of the location of the tomb of Casa del Carpio (Belvís de la Jara- Toledo), the circumstances of its documentation, and the exceptional nature of the documented grave goods have contributed to valuing it as a burial of singular value within the Early Iron Age of the middle valley of the Tagus. In recent years, a series of analyses and reviews of the different elements of the grave goods and of the individuals associated with the tomb have been carried out. The results presented in this work allow us to revalue the interpretation of this burial within the framework of the relations of the indigenous communities of the Tagus valley, with the Phoenician colonial world through a series of contacts that fostered the exchange of goods, ideas and people.
