Abstract

The study of translation style is gaining more and more importance in the field of Corpus-based Translation Studies (ETBC). Based on the self-built Chinese-Spanish parallel corpus of the Analects of Confucius, this study uses the python language toolkit and adopts the research method of combining qualitative and quantitative analysis. It makes a quantitative contrastive analysis of the two most representative literal versions of the Analects of Confucius from the lexical, syntactic and textual aspects, hoping to reveal the commonness and individuality of the translation style. The results obtained allow us to better understand the stylistic characteristics and problems of both translated versions. They serve as a useful and unavoidable resource for future translations of the Confucian classic.
