Abstract
In this work several aspects of the Upper Triassic to Lower Liassic transition are considered, in particular those concerning to the lithostratigraphy and palynological biostratigraphy. Five sections in the eastern Prebetie Zone and the southernmost part of Ihe Iberian Chain (uumilla, Ontur, Almansa, Cofrentes, Domeño) have been studied, which partly comprise the Upper Tríassíc suecession. The regional stratigraphy for the Triassic-Liassic transition involves three main lithostratigraphic units: KS (uppermost unit of thc Keupcr in Levante Zone), Imón Formation (or its equivalent, Zamoranas Formation) and Carcelén Anhydrite (or its equivalent, Cortes de Tajuña Formation). The scarce palynological existcnt data suggest that these lithostratigraphic units are at least Norian in age (the Rhaetian included).Downloads
