Abstract
This paper briefly shows the main economic and social costs of judicial resolutions that fail to be complied and, thus, the filing of an action seeking enforcement, on the judicial system and the economy as a whole. Using the official statistics available by the end of 2004, we present an overview of courts performance when solving this type of actions using, among others, a pending rate index as a proxy variable for the average time needed to process them.Downloads
