Beyond Art: Encounters with Photographers on Nature

Abstract

What is behind art thought? An approach to photography world based on encounters with artists experienced during a research stay at the University of California, Berkeley is addressed throught this study. There is nothing better than a multifocal point of view while collaborating with American photographers to answer complex questions like the aforementioned one, so that it helps us find ways of seeing that evolve even beyond art. Writing this article means to bear withness of the research developed during encounters and visits to artists’ studios in the United States. The included photographers shared their particular vision of nature and transformation of the world through their work and revealed new solutions in the way of thinking and creating their photographs. This journey takes us to explore the world of photographers Peter Goin, Stephen Galloway, Jack Fulton and Richard Misrach, whose ways of seeing and creating is reflected through a varied work methodology that fluctuates between invention and documentation. Without forgetting the humanity implicit in their words and actions.
