Combined use of 3D simulator and fixed outdoor camera for testing and broadcasting of artistic work on a media facade
Abstract
This article analyses the development and use of a 3D simulator and the installation of a fixed camera as technical and creative tools at the ETOPIA Centre of Art and Technology in Zaragoza (Spain), a facility that emerged as part of the "Digital Mile" technology district and which sought, among its objectives, to integrate technological innovation with artistic expression, especially through the building's media facade. The implementation of a remote simulation and monitoring system that facilitates the preview of content, optimising its subsequent broadcast, is detailed. In addition, the technical and conceptual challenges faced by artists in the use of this hybrid medium are examined, highlighting the works presented during the 5th Ibero-American Congress of Culture in 2013. The article evaluates the impact of the project in the cultural and technological field, emphasizing its contributions to digital art broadcast on media facades and its potential to redirect urban narratives in a context where smart and smart city prevails.
