El uso del velo islámico en Europa. Un conflicto de libertad religiosa y de conciencia

Abstract

The wearing of Islamic headscarves is the cause of the discussion on gender equality and integrism, however, the gist of this subject is the right to manifest the religion or belief. Europe has held a political and social debate, and also the case law is increasing, including the decisions from the European Court of Human Rights. This work analyzes the legislation and case law in France, Germany, United Kingdom, Spain and Italy, opening a brief comparative study on Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark and Turkey.
