Abstract

Human rights will always be subject to the essence of politics, that is, to the relation between command and obedience. Universal policies could hardly be based on them although, somewhat contradictorily, human rights could not forgot universality. The content of human rights will not be implemented through Law or Morality, but through the exercise of political power. The rights must be a technical tool to develop the principles and values that human rights postulate. A prevailing political activism should be avoided, since it could favor the abuse of human rights. The greatest challenge for human rights is to be the object of politics without politicizing every human environment. Otherwise the nature of social orders, and that of human beings, would be perverted.
