Abstract

This article explores the possibility of narrating the contemporary city through the emotional lens of graphic representation, moving beyond the technical parameters of the architectural discipline. Drawing from the H501 project, it analyzes the transition from the “institutional monument” to the “accidental monument,” understood as a spontaneous landmark within the daily urban fabric. Through illustration, the author investigates the empathetic bond between the citizen and the urban scenography, ultimately defining architectural quality no longer by formal permanence, but by a building’s capacity to persist in the collective imaginary as an urban “postcard.”
