Abstract

Among regimen changes and crisis suffered during the last three decades in Latin America, there is an ongoing democratic wave which asserts itself through the assumption of new administrations elected through legitimate electoral processes. Regional state reforms should come along, bringing modifications which are different in intensity and range in every country, particularly in civil-military relations area. At this historical context, there has been in South America an innovative wave from the very beginning of the third millennium, with the incorporation of women at the ministerial functions in Defence area. Finally, this view was structured with the promotion of women rights at international level which had sharply increasing from the seventies, and in the last years it really seems to take hold of conscientiousness in a global level. At this panorama this work analyses the historical situation and the actual state of women in the Argentinian Armed Forces from a genre perspective theory, around a central question: how did Argentine and how far did she make progresses in genre equity policy implementation in her Armed Forces?
