Articles should have a maximum length of 8,000 words.

III. Formatting
Texts should be written in Office Word format (.docx) using Times New Roman font, size 11, single-spaced, without tabs.

The title, left-aligned, will head the article and be in size 12. The author's name will appear below in size 10, and the name of the affiliated university and email address will appear in a footnote in size 8.

The abstract, 250 words maximum, will appear before the main text and below the title, justified. The terms “abstract” and “keywords” will be in bold, with the rest of the abstract in the same format as the main text. There will be no more than five keywords, listed on the line below, separated by commas, with a space, in the following format: An Abstract and Keywords section will also be included, using the same format. If necessary, the main text will be divided into sections numbered in Arabic numerals, beginning with one (followed by a period and a space) for the introduction; any subsections will also be numbered in the same way. Both sections and subsections will be left-aligned (without tabs or indents), in bold, size 12, separated by a space, and without a period. For example:

Both sections and subsections will be left-aligned (without tabs or indents), in bold, size 12, separated by a blank line, and without a period at the end. For example:

0. Introduction
1. The History of the Text
1.1. The Manuscripts

In the body of the text, paragraphs will be separated by a blank line.

IV. Graphic Elements
Images that appear in the text will be inserted using the specific option in the word processor and will be in TIFF or PNG format. They will appear outside the body of the text, centered, with a caption in size 10 at the bottom, also centered. Authors must have the reproduction rights for the images.

V. Footnotes
Footnotes should be single-spaced, in the same font as the text, and size 10. The footnote reference should be indicated after the word and before the punctuation mark using superscript Arabic numerals. Footnotes should not be bibliographic references for citations.

VI. Orthotypographical Elements
VI.1. Use of Italics
The following should be written in italics:

- Titles of publications, regardless of their format, provided they are not part of another publication. Therefore, titles of books, journals, memoirs, reports, electronic publications (blogs, magazines, newspapers, etc.), paintings, sculptures, musical works of any kind, shows, films, television and radio programs, etc., should be written in italics.

- Pseudonyms and aliases when cited alongside the name they represent; When cited alone, they are written in regular type: Leopoldo Alas, Clarín; Azorín.

- Latin phrases and expressions, unless accepted by the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE). - To highlight words that appear alongside their definition or explanation, or that contain metalinguistic language. E.g.: house is a noun.

- Intentionally misspelled words, dialectal terms, slang, etc.

- Punctuation after italics: Punctuation marks following italicized words will be in regular type (for example, the comma following a quoted title) unless they are part of the italicized phrase (for example, because they are part of the title).

VI.2. Use of bold type
It will be used to highlight the title of the article and its sections and subsections, but never in the body of the text.

VI.3. Use of Underlining and Strikethrough
Underlining and strikethrough will never be used.

VII. In-Text Quotations
Quotations will be enclosed in double quotation marks “” and quotations within quotations will be enclosed in single quotation marks ‘’.

Short quotations (less than three lines) will be placed within the text. Longer quotations (more than three lines) will appear in a separate paragraph, in the same font as the text, size 10, single-spaced, and with a 1-centimeter indent. A blank line will be left before and after each quotation.

The bibliographic reference will follow all the guidelines prescribed by the Chicago style.

Please note:
a) If text needs to be cut or added to the quotation, it will always be indicated with square brackets: with ellipses in the case of omission […] or with the relevant text in the case of addition.

b) If the source of the quotation (author and year) has been previously and clearly stated, the author's name and year can be omitted, and only the page number placed in parentheses.

c) References that cover an entire work may omit page numbers.

d) Several references can be included in the same parentheses.

e) If there are authors with the same last name, the first initial should be added.

f) If the work has no author, the title of the work is used as the reference. This may be abbreviated and should be in italics or in quotation marks, depending on how it appears in the Bibliography.

h) If a work is cited that has been cited by another author, it is marked with “in.” In the Bibliography, the author who cited the original work must appear.

VIII. Bibliography
The Bibliography consists of a list of all the works cited and used in the work, which appears at the end. The cited works should be organized alphabetically by the author's last name. When several works by the same author are cited, a chronological order should be followed; if two or more studies by the same author are cited and published in the same year, a lowercase letter should be added after the author's name.

For all other aspects of citing books, chapters, articles, etc., the Chicago style should be followed.

Other aspects to consider:
a) In the case of books, if there is a subtitle, it is separated from the title by a colon, unless the phrase ends with an exclamation mark, a question mark, or a hyphen.

b) If two works by the same author are cited, only the author's name is included the first time. The second time, the author's first and last name are replaced by two em dashes.

c) If it is a book with several authors, the names are listed in the order they appear in the work. If the work was written by more than one author, the last name and first name of the first author listed can be used, followed by the abbreviation "et al."

d) If a particular edition or translation is used, it is recommended to indicate the year of the original publication of the work in the bibliographic entry.
