Call for papers for ST special Issues
CALL FOR PAPERS FOR ST SPECIAL ISSUES
The journal Sociología del Trabajo (Sociology of Work) welcomes submissions of special issues on any of the journal's topics or areas of interest. The submission period is open, and proposals should be sent to the journal's email address (strevista@ucm.es). The acceptance period will be one month after receipt of the proposal.
- CONTENT:
Special issues will consist of a maximum of eight articles, in addition to a brief introduction, which should include a presentation of the issue and/or a review of the state of the art on the topic or subject of the special issue. The introduction may consist of a bibliographic essay of between 6,000 and 10,000 words, following the usual guidelines for this type of submission published by ST.
The articles in the special issue will be between 8,000 and 10,000 words in length, including footnotes and bibliographic references, in accordance with the journal's style guide. All contributions must be written in Spanish or English. Guest Editors agree to comply with the journal's editorial guidelines.
- PROPOSALS:
Submitted proposals must include the following information:
Title of the Special Issue
Name, institutional affiliation, email address, ORCID, and a brief biography of the Guest Editor(s).
A brief overview of the topic to be addressed in the Special Issue.
A justification for the proposal that situates or contextualizes it within the academic field of Sociology of Work, highlighting its relevance, innovative nature, or the theoretical or empirical contribution it will make to the current state of research.
List of invited authors, titles of their contributions, abstracts (between 175 and 250 words), and keywords for the articles to be included in the Special Issue. The content of the various articles must be closely related to the theme or subject of study of the Monograph; therefore, miscellaneous proposals will not be accepted.
Names, institutional affiliations, ORCID, and a brief biography of the authors invited to participate in the Monograph.
A dissemination plan for the Monograph.
- GUEST EDITORS:
Responsible for communication between the authors and ST, informing the authors of the procedure to follow, as well as the established deadlines for submitting contributions.
Ensure that the invited authors submit their contributions within the deadlines stipulated by the journal, following the usual procedure and guidelines for manuscript submission to the journal.
Propose, in agreement with the ST Editorial Team, a list of reviewers for the selected articles. All contributions to the Monograph will be evaluated using the journal's standard procedure.
Support the ST Editorial Team in managing the evaluations received and coordinate with invited authors to implement modifications or changes suggested by the evaluations of their work.
- PROPOSAL SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The proposals received will be evaluated within the timeframe established in this call for papers by the editorial team of the Spanish Journal of Political Science (RECP) based on the following criteria:
The suitability of the topic of the proposal to the RECP's publication guidelines.
The originality and innovative nature of the proposal.
Its contribution to the current state of the discipline and the specific area of research.
The editors' experience in the field of study of the proposal, their academic level, and their research track record.
The selection of invited authors. The rigor and quality of the contributions proposed or selected for inclusion in the issue.
The coherence or relevance between the selected articles and the theme of the Special Issue.
Once a proposal is selected, the Guest Editors will be informed about the process to follow, as well as any necessary modifications or changes to the original proposal.
The editors of ST reserve the right to open the Special Issue to other articles in the event of rejection, negative evaluation of the proposed works, or failure to meet the established deadlines. Likewise, ST reserves the right to decline publication of the Special Issue if the guest editors and their authors fail to meet the established deadlines or do not achieve the journal's quality standards.
