Energy Security and the Global Security Strategy of the European Union
Abstract
This article proposes an expanded definition of the concept of energy security going beyond the classic concept of the IEA, incorporating issues related to energy efficiency, the acceptability of the energy model and the challenges posed by climate change All this, without losing the perspective of the economic competitiveness requirements of the global society. On the basis of this wider concept, the article explains the evolution of the EU energy security, paying particular attention to the final presentation of this topic in the Global Security Strategy of 2016.
