First Ray Biomechanics. Plantar Flexion Deformity. Clinical Case
Abstract
The first ray is a functional unit which importance lies in the role it plays in the stance and propulsion gait stages, creating an internal longitudinal arch capable of adapting to the ground irregularities as well as being a rigid segment for pushing the body weight forward. The deformity in the plantar flexion of this segment will alter the foot’s function along with varied symptomotology. Knowing the first ray´s biomechanics as well as it’s pathomechanics in plantar flexion position, with it’s associated symptomotology, diagnose resources and treatment will be the object of the present study.Downloads
