Abstract

Online social networks play an increasingly important role in the communication of younger generations. Sites such as Facebook provide users with tools of all kinds not only to stay in touch, but also to communicate to others part of their identity. This paper analyzes the different ways in which university students use these tools according to their gender. The methodology applied is the direct study of a 250 profiles sample. The results show that gender differences are not relevant.
