Abstract
This research characterizes the strategic narratives of Russia and Ukraine in the context of the war between the two countries and then determines their impact on the most reputable newspapers in Chile, Colombia, Spain, and Mexico. The initial characterization was carried out through a systematic literature review, and the comparison was performed using a machine learning model that analyzed 32,916 headlines and news summaries produced over more than a decade—from 2014 to 2025. The Ukrainian strategic narrative emphasizes the country's resistance and defense against invasion, while denouncing the humanitarian consequences of aggression. The Russian strategic narrative consolidates Putin as a defiant leader in the face of the West, fighting to redefine the global order.
