Analysis of the Journalistic Discourse in Mexico Before the 2008 World Economic Crisis

Abstract

 This article analyzes the journalistic discourse used during the 2008 world economic crisis by the two main newspapers of the city of Chihuahua, Mexico, in comparison to the newspaper El Financiero, which is the newspaper with issues of economy and finance of greater influence in the country. For the analysis, the main production condition of the discourse, the parts of the discourse, and the discursive operations used in the headings of the notes were identified. In the qualitative part, the opinions of financial executives were gathered about the information of local newspapers as well as the opinions of journalists specialized in economics issues.
