Abstract

In 2003, Europe has set up a selfregulatory code for Games, which was called Pan European Game Information (PEGI). This study aimed to investigate whether this information has come to parents and / or guardians of minors and if they use it like a measurement of protection. The sample consisted of 403 parents. The mean ages of the participants was 45, 94 years (SD= 4,8). In conclusion, it becomes clear that adults do not get the correct information, detect age but they do not know who is related to the content descriptors. Ignorance of adults, which is reported in the media, could be due to the inadequacy of symbols or because people cannot interpret the images.
