Abstract

The institutional development and political practices in the municipal governments of the kingdom of Valencia between the 13th and 15th centuries are addressed, starting from the original and referential model of the city of Valencia and its adaptation to the villas. The close interconnection between the modifications of the electoral systems and the process of configuration of the oligarchies is analyzed, which explains the emergence and consolidation of the urban patriciate in a framework of power relations, where the different interests of the monarchy of the Crown of Aragon conditioned the rhythms of evolution in the urban network. In addition, collaboration initiatives between local elites and said monarchy are deepened.
