Abstract

The new legal framework which míes certain paleontological activities since 1985 has introduced the possibility of the fossil sites protection. and the necessity of the fulíilment of sorne requirements to undertate research. Nowadays the way in which the Spanish Historical Heritage Law is applied is different depending on the geographic areas iii which fossils are found. 113 spite of sorne troubles, scientists and collectors know betíer the limitations and possibihties of laws, being necessary to progress in the rationalization of the paleontological heritage management.
