Abstract

In this paper we review the concept of paleontological heritage in the context of Canary lslands and suggest its management in the Historical 1-leritage. We also analize the applicable legislation in the Archipelago, aud a double legal status (cultural and natural) is observed. Firially, we asses Ibe current managemení and conservation of these bentage resources, moíeover showing the deficieíices in the Canary Conimunity.
