Interpretación de la dinámica poblacional de Ammonia beccarii (Linné,1758) (Foraminiferida Protoctista) en el Cuaternario continenta lde la laguna de Viliena (Alicante,España)

Abstract

A 31 m deep core in the quatemary lake of Villena has yielded a 30 cm thick record in which the colonization process of the species A. beccarii during the Later Pleisroce 155N: 102--1660 COIoqWoS dc Pateontologí» 1995 Nítiacro 49. 145-- 167 146 1 lisera y A. M. Blázquez ne is detected. Ihe study of poputation dynamics seems to indicate that this species follows a k-strategy rather than an r-strategy, at least as an effective pattern. Megalospheric fornis dominate in alí levels. This coníd result froni a near to optimal environrnent for growth and development of this species. From a morphological point of view, there does not seem to be a prefered coiling direction. The population disappear abruptly due to a catastrophic episode related ro a fluvial/aluvial process which deposits a red clays and sihs layer without any paleontological information.
