Abstract

Thc currení researehes on evolutionary developmental biology allow to tesí the different theories proposed to explain the quantitative and qualitative hominid dental variability. Thus, it is possible to suggest a synthetical approach in which three leveis of the dental size and sbape determination, characterized by different genetie, epigenetic and environmental stress factors, are considered. `Phis approach includes the nccessary elements to explain alí the dental size and shape changes observed during hominid evolution.
