Abstract
A new scpioid Cephalopoda related to Sepia (Parasepia) rnelendezi nov. sp. is descrihed irí the Southwestern sector of/he Guadalquivir Basin (Upe, Huelva, Spain). Their morphologic charaeteristies: shape of ihe shield, geometrie arrangement of the sepia in thc phragmocone and the significant pair of lateral expansions in the posterior edge of the specimen. are very elose tu the unique miocene specimen found in the Spain, located iii the same basin, (Mengíbar, iaén), which is Upper Tortonian-Messiniau in age un ¡he basis of radiometrie dalation of ¡he sediments.
