Los Heterocorales del carbonífero de los Santos de Maimona (Badajoz, SW de España)

Abstract

1-leterocorals found in several sections of the Carboniferous from Los Santos de Maimona area yield always at the same stratigraphic level. The abundant specimens from Sierra Cabrera outcrops correspond to a population with a high morphologieal variability. Fortyfour percent of the specimens Lave more than 6 sepU (7-9) and consecuently they cannot be included definitively into Haap/tyl/ia. However rnost of tbe characterístmcs of the specimens are similar to Jleóvap/zv//ia mnirabilts. ILe validity of this genus í s q uestionab le. (DI--Pl. fltiI»cr() 42. 61--Sl.
