Abstract

Six depositional sequences in the Pyreneen Upper Cretaceous are identified: Ci (Upper Cenomanian-Turonian), C2 (Coniacian), C3 (Lower and Middle Santonian), C4 (Middle and Upper Santonian-Campanian), C5 (Upper Campanian-Maastrichtian) and C« (Maastrichtian-?). These sequences are sepparated by erosion surfaces, terrigenous wedges and/or lacustrine levels. Departamento de Paleontología. Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona. * 965 The two main transgressions are occurred during the Late Cenomanian and during the Late Santonian-Campanian. The more generalizated sea falís took place in the Turonian-Coniacian boundary and during the Maastrichtian. Platform progradation occurred to the WNW and the maxiniun was during the Late Campanian-Maastrichtian.
