Abstract
A recently discovered exposure of Jurassie (Lías) sediments near the Village of San Felices (Extemal range, western Prepyrennees) is studied. This outcrop is placed at the southem flank of a complex antiformal structure belonging lo a system of thrust at the surroundings of Riglos. NY 13 175-184. Madrid. 1989, Cuadernos de Geología Ibérftn Edit. Universidad Complutense. 176 M"J. Comas-Rengifo, A. Goy 6. Meléndez y cok The stratigraphic succession shows a close similarity with that reuognized at other areas of the Pyrennees located to the East, as well as with the classical successions of lithostratigraphic units defined for the Lias of the Iberiam Chain. Biostratigraphic analysis of recorded brachiopods and ammonites associations has allowed eharacterization the Middle-Upper Domerian, and Lower Toarcian Tenuicostatum and Serpentinus Zones. Such associations show similarities with those recognized farther east in the Pyrenees and in the Iberian Chain. The interest of ihis outcrop lies on the fact of being unpublished and on its particular geographic location.Downloads
