Correlación y evolución paleogeográfica del Cretácico al norte y sur del Sistema Central.
Abstract
This paper compares the facies and paleogeographic events of the cretacic outcrops, situated in tite Nortiten and Southern parts of the Spanisit Central Mountain Chain in arder to obtain a better comprehension of the historical evolution in the southern margin of the Cretaceous Nortit Basin (Meseta Norcastellana) Besides it wi]l provide some ideas about tite relations between this basin and tite Íberic one. It correlates tite best developed sections of the Upper Cretaceous in tite North and tite South, and some sedimentological, paleotectonical and paleogeo~raphical conclusions are obíained: They also exist two sedimentary cycles (Cenomanian-Turonian Cycle and Senonian Cycle) with transgresive regressive character, like in the rest of the basin. It is possible to recognize tite titresholds of NW-SE direction whicit condition the characteristics of sedimentation and tite paleogeopraphic direction -NNE-SSW which determines tite shape of tite basin. fluringtite second cycle (Senobian) the h6iiié~neization of tite conditions in tite basin is produced and it is not reflected anymore tite paleogeographic thresholds with tite direction NNE-SSW witich was very important during the first cycle.Downloads
