Presencia de pillow-lavas en las metavolcanitas submarinas de las proximidades de Espasante, Cabo Ortegal, NW de España.
Abstract
A submarine metavolcanic formation is described for the first time in NW Iberian Peninsula. It consists mainly of broken pillow brecc as and massive flows. Two low-grade metamorphic events are found in these rocks: The first one (M0) is a thermal event desplaying features of sea floor hydrothermal metamorphism. The second one (M1) is a regional dynamo-thermal metamorphism resembling the one undergone by the Silurian peliticpsamitic series of the west side of Barquero s anticline. * Departamento de Petrolog a.
