Abstract

The present review provides an analysis of the book "María Flores Rivas, Inmaculada Hernández-Tejero Larrea, y Soraya Planchas Gallarte (eds.), Animalia. Estudios sobre animales en la Antigüedad mediterránea, Madrid, Ediciones Antígona, 2022." The uniqueness of this work lies in its clear departure from traditional research focused on biological or veterinary aspects, instead directing its attention towards the philosophy, literature, and art of the Hellenic world. Therefore, its objective is to conduct an in-depth analysis from various perspectives on the importance of animals in Hellenic thought, a topic that has been little studied in the scientific literature.
