Ariadne, the mortal-immortal Queer
Abstract
This article shows several details to understand the complex figure of Ariadne in Nietzsche’s
thought, but goes beyond the German author and dives into certain moments of Ariadne, from the
etymological to Otto through Ovid and Catullus, to account for an Ariadne that is the companion of the
god Dionysos and that in a certain way makes possible the god’s own truth; what Nietzsche would call
“eternal return”.
