Abstract

The crime genre has shown a surprising richness and versatility, both in literature and motion pictures. This paper makes a tour of the crime fiction in films, comparing them to the literary examples; we try to analyse the modern and post-modern features that crime cinema shares with crime literature and we study the characteristics of the detective in films and his vision of reality, typical of the contemporary times.
