Abstract
The manuscript of Kitāb al-Harraqāt (The Book about Burning Instruments) by Ibn Sahl, a mathematician and physicist of the Baghdad court in the 10th century, was founded and studied by Roshdi Rashed. This geometric optics’ treatise shows that the law of refraction was discovered six centuries before Snell, who gives the law its name.Format
