Abstract
The different nationalisms that emerged in Europe around the mid 19th century had also their reflection in the art and architecture of the moment, thus, arising the need of finding a style that could be considered “national”, that is, unique and country specific. In Spain, the Mudejar style stood up, but other options existed as well, as the Plateresque or Hispanic-Flamenco styles, the latter one specially vindicated in Arturo Melida’s work.Format
